London-based design firm BERG has come up with an interesting new mobile accessory: The Little Printer – a cloud-based inkless printer for iOS and Android devices.
The device will be able to grab various web content, such as emails, birthdays, weather, news, and so forth, and use it to print regular bookmark-sized reports.
BERG’s Little Printer is inkless, and connects wirelessly to BERG’s private cloud, so you can place the device pretty much anywhere you’d like.
Perhaps the most notable aspect of the Little Printer, however, is its appearance – this thing’s just cute, and features a simple design with white plastic and anodized aluminum construction, so it won’t put a damper in your office decor.
While the idea sounds interesting, I’m a bit skeptical about printing out bookmark-sized reports on receipt paper – why would anyone want to create more paper when the idea behind digital devices is to go paperless?
BERG plans to take pre-orders for a “beta” device early next year. There’s no word on what the device might cost. To read more (or put yourself on the mailing list), check out BERG’s official site, and check out the below video to see the Little Printer in action:
