AutoDesk has released an updated version of their popular SketchBook Pro artistic software for iOS and Mac. The update brings full iCloud support, allowing you to save and view projects on iCloud.
The updated app enables you to begin a project on your Mac, complete with layers and effects, and not have to worry about saving a local copy – your work is automatically stored in iCloud, and you can pick up where you left off on any other Mac with SketchBook Pro installed linked to your Apple ID.
SketchBook Pro for iPad has also been updated ($4.99, App Store Link), enabling iCloud-based syncing between the Mac and iOS version, allowing you to completely sync your projects via the cloud. The possibilities are exciting, and as other companies begin to follow suit, we’ll soon see a strong move towards apps and services that are connected to the cloud.
The updated version of SketchBook Pro for Mac is available now as a free update for users of previous versions, and for those of you that haven’t tried the app, it is available from the Mac App Store for $59.99, and considering that this is a full-featured drawing and editing app, that’s really a pretty reasonable price ($59.99, Mac App Store Link).
SketchBook Express is also available on both iOS (App Store Link) and the Mac (App Store Link) for free, allowing you to try out many of the features of the pro version before you buy.
