Vooma, makers of the Peel adapter to transform the iPod touch into a phone, have released an interesting new case that adds dual SIM capabilities to the iPhone 4 & 4S – and can accept any SIM, effectively unlocking your iPhone.
The new device is called the Vooma Peel PG92, reports TechCrunch, and combines dual unlocked SIM card with a built-in backup battery, charging your phone and enabling the use of multiple SIM cards at the same time.
Due to the nature of the device, the Vooma Peel PG92 does require that you jailbreak your iPhone and download the Vooma app from Cydia in order to take full advantage of its abilities, although it does provide some function on non-jailbroken devices.
Once everything is set up, the device uses a dialer very similar to Apple’s own, and recreates all the functionality of Apple’s own dialer while providing its useful extra features.
Vooma hasn’t released any details on pricing or availability at this point, but for such a useful case that can add so much value to your device, the new case is definitely worth any reasonable price the company asks.
