The Mac is continuing to gain favor among consumers and business alike, fueled partly by the increasing popularity of Apple’s iOS devices and the company’s explosive growth in the Asian market.
AppleInsider reports that, according to Needham’s Charlie Wolf, Apple has grown in nearly all segments. In a note to investors, Wolf pointed out that shipments of Macs to business have grown tremendously during the last year and a half. As such, Apple has now reached an all-time high, achieving a 5.2 percent share of the global PC market.
Needham continues, saying that he believes this to be a durable trend, and that continued market strength of the Mac, as well as iOS devices, will propel Apple to gain even larger portions of the market in the future.
Apple’s global share has increased by almost 20% in just the past year, and Mac shipments have continually outpaced the PC market are large for 22 quarters – thats 5 1/2 years of Apple outpacing the PC market with constant growth.
Wolf also believes that Apple’s push to rollout more international Apple Retail Stores is helping the company increase it’s market share across Asia and Europe, which are particularly critical markets for technology products.
