A new study by research firm GfK (reported by Reuters) reveals that iPhone users are considerably more loyal than Android users, with 84% of iPhone owners planning another iPhone, while only 60% of Android users planned to buy another Android device.
According to GfK analyst Ryan Garner, “Apple is clearly ahead of the game,” although he also notes that future advancements from competitors could challenge that.
GfK as a firm, however, notes that challenging the iPhone is a bigger proposition than it appears, as it’s much more difficult to lure loyal customers from competitors.
As a final note, the firm concludes that the biggest benefit will come to whoever creates the best user experience, which is the most effective way to build brand loyalty.
