Following a September quarter that underwhelmed investors and Wall Street analysts, Apple is once again picking up speed, and according to checks by Canaccord Genuity, the iPhone 4S is now the best-selling smartphone across the top three US carriers.
The hot new device was the best-selling smart phone at Verizon, AT&T and Sprint, in October, even though the device was only available for the latter half of the month. The iPhone 4 remains extremely popular as well, also ranked among the top three selling smartphones at each carrier.
BGR reports on findings released in a research note from Canaccord analyst Mike Walkley:
Our October checks indicated the iPhone 4S was the top selling model at AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon with the iPhone 4, now $100, a top 3 selling model at each of those channels.
The analyst continues on to suggest that the upcoming holiday sales quarter will likely be an all-time record-breaker in iPhone sales for Apple, suggesting an increased surge in popularity of Apple’s various iPhone models through at least the end of the year.
Walkley maintains his “buy” rating for Apple shares, and has increased his target price for the shares to $560. Apple sold over 4 million iPhone 4Ss during its launch weekend alone, and the device is well on track to becoming the fastest-selling device of all time.
