According to a recent ChangeWave survey gauging demand for tablets this holiday season, the iPad is at the top of many consumers’ wish lists, and is preferred three to one over the Kindle Fire.
The survey shows that 65% of all future tablet buyers plan on purchasing an iPad, while the Kindle Fire comes in at 22%. It’s worth noting, however, that this is the first time any tablet other than the iPad has gotten a double-digit response.
It appears as though the Kindle Fire is eating into Android tablet demand far more than it’s affecting demand for the iPad, while tablet demand in general continues to increase.
Also interesting is that the survey found that, while 75 percent of iPad owners are “very satisfied” with their purchase, the combined average for all other tablets was just 49 percent.
With the demand curve very much on Apple’s side, rising interest in tablets among consumers, and a higher than average satisfaction rating, it appears that Apple is poised to do very well in the consumer market this holiday season.
