Some small subtitle changes have been made within iOS 5 and one is when using the Calendars app. By default in portrait mode you will be presented with the following view:
Now if you rotate your device to landscape mode you will be presented with the following view:
As you can see this option allows you a far better visual reference to dates and times of your appointments.
In this new view simply tap-hold and swipe from right to left to look forward through your calendar and from left to right to return to previous dates. Swiping up and down will also help you navigate through the times in your calendar.
