I remember the days when it used to be quite an endeavor to build a hackintosh, spending days or weeks hunting down the right drivers and hardware. Thanks to a new utility called UniBeast, however, those days are now in the past.
Building a hackintosh used to be a challenging and ambitious project, and one which geeks could brag about for weeks, and feel a sense of accomplishment about. Now just about anybody can build a hackintosh, as UniBeast does most of the work for you.
UniBeast allows you to create a bootable Lion installer on a flash drive, which you can run on a non-Apple computer. It also removes the need to use an iBoot CD or image, and finds all of the drivers you’ll need to get your machine running smoothly.
To use UniBeast, all you need is a copy of Mac OS X Lion from the Mac App Store (or you can use one of Apple’s retail Lion USB drives), and an 8GB flash drive. Just format the drive with one partition under the Master Boot Record partition scheme, then run UniBeast and watch it work.
When the program is done, you’ll be able to use the 8GB flash drive to boot nearly any Intel PC and install Lion. And once you’ve got Lion installed, MultiBeast will then even go to the trouble of finding all of your drivers for you. Easy as pie.
If you’ve thought about building a hackintosh, but haven’t had the time or ambition to do it, give UniBeast and MultiBeast a try – you’ll be glad you did. For more information, or to download UniBeast and MultiBeast, head on over to Tonymac86.
