As the story goes, an Apple employee reportedly lost an ‘iPhone 5’ prototype (now known to be an iPhone 4S prototype) at a bar in San Francisco, after which Apple controversially visited the home of the person suspected of picking up the device, and searched the man’s house.
Theriault’s departure is likely related to the incident. Theriault was previously Chief Security Officer and a Vice President at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, prior to which he worked as a special agent for the FBI. Theriault was responsible for overseeing all of Apple’s security operations.
