John Theriault, Apple’s Vice President of Global Security, has left the company following the controversial lost iPhone 4S investigation earlier this year, reports 9to5Mac. The terms of his departure remain unclear.
As the story goes, an Apple employee reportedly lost an ‘iPhone 5’ prototype (now known to be an iPhone 4S prototype) at a bar in San Francisco, after which Apple controversially visited the home of the person suspected of picking up the device, and searched the man’s house.
Theriault’s departure is likely related to the incident. Theriault was previously Chief Security Officer and a Vice President at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, prior to which he worked as a special agent for the FBI. Theriault was responsible for overseeing all of Apple’s security operations.
