Tomorrow’s iPhone media event represents an exciting time in the Apple community, and to add to the excitement surrounding the event, Reuters reports that Steve Jobs himself is even expected to be in attendance.
While I suspect it’s unlikely that Steve Jobs will actually be conducting the event (as it really ought to be Tim Cook’s time to shine), he may make a cameo appearance at the event, or even show up simply out of personal interest and excitement for the event.
Although a Steve Jobs appearance at the event would be interesting, showing Apple’s investors that Jobs is still interested and involved, it may somewhat undercut the significance of Tim Cook’s first big moment as CEO of Apple, and may send the wrong message about Apple’s confidence in Tim Cook.
Ultimately, Reuters’ report is not confirmed, and may simply be reflecting speculation or a simple opinion. Whether Steve Jobs makes an appearance or not, the event is sure to be a spectacular showcase of what Apple has been working on since the iPhone 4 launch in June of 2010.
