Many have been debating about whether or not Apple’s next iPhone will be a complete redesign or something more akin to the iPhone 4. Regardless of which design Apple chooses, however, the expected inclusion of an A5 processor will vastly improve the next iPhone’s graphical abilities.
Tech pundits and analysts are in almost universal agreement that Apple’s next iPhone will feature a dual-core A5 processor, which will house a much faster graphics processor (GPU) than its predecessor. A set of benchmarks performed by Anandtech (above) shows how significant the difference could be.
These numbers might not be 100% accurate, as it is possible that Apple will scale back the graphics performance in the iPhone 5 to achieve better battery life or for improved cooling, but one thing is clear: the next iPhone will be a performance powerhouse.
