Although the iPhone 4S just went up for pre-sale on Friday, October 7th, the first shipping notifications are already starting to arrive from both Apple and Sprint for delivery by October 14th.
MacRumors reports that pre-orders from Sprint have already been added to the UPS system, and CultofMac shows that orders from the Apple Retail Store have already been marked as shipped as well. The units will be shipping by overnight/next day delivery.
Apple has previously worked with shippers to restrict delivery of pre-orders to the actual launch day to prevent orders from arriving early, although there have been cases of orders arriving early in the past.
