To honor the memory of Steve Jobs, who passed away on October 5th, California has instituted a new state holiday in his name. According to a tweet by California governor Jerry Brown, October 16th will become Steve Jobs Day in California.
The new holiday is meant to recognize the important contributions that Steve Jobs made to the world, as well as to celebrate the life of a man who is viewed by many as being as revolutionary as Einstein or Henry Ford.
There’s no doubt that Steve Jobs’ life has affected the world in a profound and meaningful way, and I for one am glad that his native state has chosen to honor him in this way.
