Apple has just issued an Apple TV update, bringing the version up to 4.4.2. The update comes just one week after their problematic release of the 4.4.1 update. The 4.4.2 update resolves an issue forcing many users to have to restore their Apple TV through iTunes, and contains a number of minor bug fixes & optimizations.
Apple has released a support document explaining that you must reset all settings on your Apple TV before updating to 4.4.2, and applying the 4.4.2 update will reset your device to factory settings, so be sure to have your passwords on hand before applying the update.
The update is available immediate through the Apple TV’s built-in software update feature. You can also download the update directly (link) and update your device through iTunes.
