Staff members at Apple’s massive Covent Garden retail store in London have been informed that the store will be closing early on October 4th, reports MacRumors, in order to host a live stream of Apple’s “Let’s Talk iPhone” media event for members of the press.
The store will be closing at 3:30 PM on Tuesday rather than the typical 9:00 PM closing time, allowing some time to prepare the store prior to the media event, which will begin at 6PM London Time.
Hello Team,
As we begin to start a very exciting quarter in Apple Retail, I am pleased to let you know that our Covent Garden Store will be hosting a keynote streaming event next Tuesday 4th October. This event will be a press only event and currently we have no further details on what will be presented. The store will be closing at 3.30pm to accommodate this.
This is a really exciting event for our store and we are passionate about delivering an outstanding Covent Garden experience.
While Apple has held press gatherings for media events in London before, such events are typically held at off-site locations rather than at one of Apple’s retail stores.
Apple is expected to discuss new iPhone hardware, iOS 5, iCloud, and possibly more (such as iTunes 10.5 or OS X Lion 10.7.2) at the event next week.
