Following an email sent to developers on Friday evening (shown below), Apple reset all iCloud libraries related to iTunes Match about 15 minutes ago. This follows Apple’s wiping of all iCloud device backup data on Thursday, September 22nd.
This latest reset of iCloud-related data on Apple’s servers likely signifies that Apple is preparing to release the iOS 5 Gold Master – the final shipping version of iOS 5 provided in advance to developers and Apple’s manufacturing partners.
Apple had reportedly initially planned to release the iOS 5 GM to manufacturing on Friday, September 23rd, with the final software beginning to be flashed on new iPhone hardware on Monday, September 26th. If this schedule holds true, it’s quite possible that Apple might grant developers access to the Gold Master as early as today.
iCloud and iOS 5 have all been available to developers in pre-release beta versions for a number of months now, with iTunes Match being the most recent service to become available to developers. Apple is expected to unveil or even release all three of these alongside next-gen iPhone hardware at an expected October 4th media event.
