Looking to do some reading, but don’t have a ton of extra time? Apple has just added a new section to their iBookStore called “Quick Reads.” The new section contains shorter, cheaper eBooks that aim to compete with Amazon’s inexpensive Kindle Singles.
The section features a broad range of genres, with both fiction and non-fiction offerings including short stories, short-form books and essays. The books range in price from $0.99 to $4.99 and are significantly smaller than most other ebooks in the iBookStore.
The new section largely attempts to fill the gap between lengthier traditional books and shorter items like reports and news articles. The Quick Reads section is available now under the Books section of the iTunes Store (iBookStore Link).
