If new claims from Concord Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo are to be believed, Apple’s 5th-gen iPhone 5 will remain largely identical to the iPhone 4, will feature the same 512MB RAM found in the iPhone 4, and will have an improved & redesigned antenna.
Kuo also claims that the iPhone 5 will feature a glass front and back, just like the iPhone 4. Oddly, Kuo is also claiming that the new model of the iPhone is code-named the “N94” – the same code found on an iPhone being tested for T-Mobile earlier this year.
I very much doubt that Kuo is actually referencing the iPhone 5. He actually seems to be referencing a mildly updated model of the iPhone 4 – an iPhone 4S, so to speak. It’s been rumored previously that Apple would release a modestly updated iPhone 4 in addition to the iPhone 5.
Kuo’s claims contrast sharply with many claims that the iPhone 5 will have a larger screen, a redesigned exterior, and other enhancements.
