Adobe has announced in a recent press release that Flash Player 11 will be released in early October, along with updated Flash Builder and Flex development tools, as well as a new version of Adobe Air.
The new version of Flash Player will support faster hardware-accelerated 2D and 3D rendering, potentially enabling Flash Player to render content 1000x faster than Flash Player 10.
Adobe claims that new enhancements will allow developers to produce console-quality games for all supported platforms, including mobile platforms such as Android and Blackberry’s tablet OS.
Adobe has also introduced native extensions, allow developers to use third-party add-ons that give them access to data and files on devices, and also allows the app to interface with the device’s hardware, such as sensors and other components.
