Steve Jobs was well known for his willingness to take the time to respond to emails from Apple customers, and now it appears that CEO Tim Cook is following that trend, making customer interaction a priority.
Although much of the email he has received so far has been congratulatory in nature for being appointed CEO, to which he simply replies “thanks”, he has sent more personal replies as well, such as thanking an Iraq veteran for military service, and echoing Auburn University’s “War Eagle” battle cry after a customer used it in an email.
Apple has traditionally paid close attention to emails sent to Steve Jobs, and likely will continue to do so with email directed to Tim Cook. Personally, I find it extremely comforting that Cook is taking the time to deliver personal responses to customer email – it makes me feel as though Apple truly considers their customers the most important part of their business.
