A number of sources are now reporting that Apple may soon be unveiling a truly dramatic and amazing new Apple Retail Store on Santa Monica, California’s Third Street Prominade. The most interesting part: the entire store will be made from carefully suspended glass!
The new 8,048 square foot building is believed to be a future Apple Retail Store, and will be constructed in place of the existing three-story Borders bookstore. A look at the renders above and below reflect a delightfully elegant transparent glass ceiling, and the structure will also include a 5,210 square foot basement.
The front of the new building will also be made entirely of transparent glass that will be gracefully projected and suspended from carefully crafted stone-paneled side walls.
Apple is famous for their unique and amazing Retail Store designs, such as the class cube they call they 5th Avenue Apple Store, and the glass cylinder Apple Store at Shanghai.
Apple has been making some major upgrades to their retail stores in the recent months. Their 5th Avenue Store in New York is undergoing a $6.6 million upgrade while a new Grand Central project has also been making headlines.
