MacRumors reports on a new scam that has been affecting some of their readers. The scam is a phishing email that disguises itself as a notice from MobileMe, and then attempts to steal users personal financial details.
The email, pictured above, is designed to look like a notice from Apple, asking the victim to click a link, visit a website and verify credentials in order to “transition to iCloud.”
The link directs to a page that looks like one of Apple’s pages and asks for billing and financial information, an address, and the username and password to your Apple Store account.
The scam appears to be fairly widespread, attempting to dupe a very large number of users.
