Following Friday’s leak of several “N94” iPhone components, MacPost has revealed some new leaked part images showing the LCD, home button, and front cover for the next gen iPhone, although it’s uncertain whether they are destined for the iPhone “4S” or iPhone 5.
The LCD is clearly labeled as N94 “EVT1”, which is an engineering verification code, and is dated from March of this year. While it’s possible that these parts are for an upcoming next-generation iPhone, it’s also possible that they are simply prototype parts, especially considering the March date stamped on the parts.
The panel shows the same bezel space as the iPhone 4, meaning that the screen would not be larger in this unit, contrary to many rumors suggesting that the iPhone 5 will have a larger screen that goes from edge-to-edge.
Personally, considering that the dates on these parts are not recent, I believe that these leaked parts are nothing more than prototype parts manufactured for Apple’s T-Mobile test units that were revealed back in April.
