According to Rodman & Renshaw analyst Ashok Kumor, the iPad has experienced 20% sequential sales growth, due to an expanding sales area, back-to-school sales and faltering competition.
The indications are clear – iPad competitors across the board continue to achieve disappointing sales figures, and some tablets are failing entirely, such as the HP TouchPad, which was discontinued after only two months on the market.
The news is only fitting, however – we’ve already witnessed the Mac’s ability to experience record sales growth while the rest of the PC industry remains flat or even declines.
Kumor also suggests that it would be unwise to expect Apple to release an iPad 3 this year because, after all, 2011 is the year of the iPad 2.
