iAd Chief Andy Miller Leaves Apple

Apple’s vice president of mobile advertising Andy Miller, who was responsible for Apple’s iAd program, has now left Apple, reports AllThingsD, in order to become a partner at venture firm Highland Capital.

It’s no secret that Apple’s iAd mobile advertising platform hasn’t been as successful as the company would like, due partly to Apple’s high pricing and demands for creative control.  The platform was launched in July 2010, shortly following Apple’s acquisition of mobile ad firm Quattro Wireless (which Miller co-founded).
