As many of you are likely aware, Apple recently signed a 10-year lease for a 23,000 square foot retail store in New York’s Grand Central Station. TheRealDeal is now reporting that high-quality renders of the finished store have been released, showing what the store is expected to look like.
As you can see from the above image, released by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the store is incredibly large, and quite beautiful – there’s something about Apple’s high-tech gadgetry being sold in this beautiful and historic building that really appeals to me.
Further, construction of the new Apple Retail Store has reportedly already begun, although the work being done so far has been so low-key that the vast majority of passers-by failed to notice entirely.
Apple reportedly plans to have the store open and operational in time for this year’s holiday shopping season. Apple has agreed to pay around $1.1 million in annual rent for the 10-year duration of their stay, aside from whatever funds they’ll be spending on construction and customization of the space.
