Following our earlier report that Google has just purchased Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion to fuel Android handset development, new information has come to light suggesting that Google’s purchase of Motorola Mobility comes with over 17,000 patents that Google can now abuse.
I suspect that Motorola’s patents are Google’s real reason for purchasing the company’s mobile division, which is especially interesting considering the epic childish fit that Google tends to throw when anybody else buys patents that they had their eye on.
So, where is Apple to start complaining that Google is ganging up on them and not playing fair (like Google did with the Nortel patents)? Oh yeah, unlike Google, Apple still has some class.
