Yesterday Apple released a security update for Quicktime 7.7 for users of OS X 10.5 Leopard. In addition, Apple has just released updated printer drivers for several printer brands for OS X Lion.
The QuickTime update addresses security flaws that could allow an attacker to use malicious graphics, video, or audio files to attack a victim’s computer, potentially causing crashes or running dangerous code. The updated is free, and available through Software Update.
Further, Apple has released updated drivers to support new printers (and improve feature support for existing printers) made by Brother, HP, and Samsung.
HP Printer Drivers v2.7 requires Mac OS X 10.6.1 or newer and includes the latest printing and scanning drivers for printers that are already supported, Brother Printer Drivers v2.7 includes the latest Brother printing and scanning software for OS X Lion and Mac OS vX 10.6, and Samsung Printer Drivers v2.2 added support for several new printer models, and improves support for other models. The driver update requires Snow Leopard or Lion.
All of the updates are available through the Software Update application, or as downloadable installers at the Apple Support Web site.
