Despite the fact that we have good reason to think that Lion will be released on Friday, considering that all past OS X releases were issued on Friday, and Apple employees are blocked from vacation that day, a new report nevertheless suggests a Wednesday release for the new hardware and OS.
The report cites sources close to Apple (of course) and claims that Lion will be launched at 8:30 AM EST on the 20th of July. Additionally, it’s said that new Thunderbolt-enabled MacBook Airs will also arrive at the same time.
Both Lion and the new MacBook Airs (and possibly new Thunderbolt-enabled Cinema Displays) have been expected for some time now, and are due for immanent release. While I’m personally not sold on the Wednesday release date, it’s nevertheless exciting to consider that, in any case, we should see some great new products from Apple very, very soon.
