While we all know that Apple is experiencing immense success as a company, this tidbit might surprise you: as it turns out, Apple’s $76.2 billion cash reserves exceeds the gross domestic product of most of the world’s countries!
It’s important to note, however, that GDP isn’t a very good comparison to cash on hand – it’d be much more fitting to compare Apple’s annual revenue, which would alter these results quite substantially. Further, the numbers are comparing Apple’s 2011 cash reserves to data from 2009 for the countries’ GDP figures.
Even so, however, I still find this news very amazing. Long live the Nation of Apple!
