As if we really needed any more evidence that OS X Lion was coming very soon, Apple is now calling for developers to submit apps for Lion. Rumors have pointed to various release dates, but I personally believe we’ll see it arrive Thursday, July 14. Cross your fingers!
According to an email send out by Apple to registered OS X developers, the Cupertino company is now asking for Lion-compatible submissions to the Mac App Store. This is a sure sign of an imminent release if anything is.
From the email message:
OS X Lion, the eighth major release of the world’s most advanced operating system, will soon be available to millions of Mac users around the world. Submit Apple has opened the door today for developers to submit OS X Lion applications for inclusion on the Mac App Store. These applications should be tested against the Golden Master seeds of both OS X Lion and Xcode 4.1. Mac OS X Lion is expected to ship later this week alongside new MacBook Airs and Mac Pros.
Lion has been known to be stable for some while, ever since Apple seeded the Golden Master to developers. Lion may release along new MacBook Airs and Mac Pros on the 14th, if current rumor consensus is anything to go by, and should pack quite a punch. Personally, I’m way beyond ready for it to arrive. How about you?
