See AirPlay Wireless Mirroring On iOS 5 In Action

One of the most downright useful things that Apple talked about at their WWDC keynote was AirPlay Mirroring, which allows you to wirelessly mirror your iPad’s screen onto your TV.

Apple iOS guru Scott Forstall described the idea briefly during WWDC, and 9to5Mac has tracked down a video of the wireless mirroring in action – check it out below!

The iOS 5 features page on Apple’s site provides a much more detailed description of Wireless AirPlay:

Get even more play out of AirPlay — the wireless technology that lets you stream content from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your HDTV via Apple TV.1 In addition to music, movies, and photos, AirPlay now streams video from your Photos app. So you can shoot a home video and instantly share it with everyone in the room. Even AirPlay-enabled apps and websites get the big-screen treatment with iOS 4.3. And if your photos are the feature presentation, you can play a slideshow with all the stunning themes available on Apple TV.

Pretty awesome stuff – and another compelling reason to go ahead and make the leap on an AppleTV! I can’t wait until iOS 5 goes mainstream!
