Apparently some people still care enough about flash to use it as a bragging point – Samsung recently unleashed a funny new advertisement trumping up their new Samsung Galaxy Tab, while bashing the iPad for its lack of Flash support.
Samsung’s tablet is powered by Android Honeycomb 3.0, which, of course, does support flash. The Galaxy tab 10.1 is also very thin and light, like the iPad, and even uses a dock connector that’s almost exactly the same. And, considering the recent lawsuit between Samsung and Apple, it’s likely that they put some thought into making the Galaxy Tab 10.1 more iPad like. Check out the embedded video below to watch the new advertisement for yourself!
A tagline in the commercial read “Just because you’re stuck doesn’t mean your bored.” What Samsung fails to mention, of course, is that the Galaxy Tab only offers a fraction of the apps as the iPad (games included), fails to have a compelling music playing mechanism, has a plastic back, is awkward to use in portrait mode to its wide-screen orientation, and that it costs the same amount of money as an iPad while doing much less… What the iPad lacks in Flash, it more than makes up for in apps, HTML 5 support, and general usability,
Those points aside, however, the ad is still fairly clever, and even though Samsung is using some unfair tactics, that doesn’t prevent the ad from being entertaining! I recommend you have a look.
