Those of you video editors out there hoping for an early glimpse of Apple’s Final Cut Pro X might have just gotten your wish. For a brief moment today (our source reports), a Twitter user pushed out several alleged screenshots from Apple’s as yet unreleased Final Cut Pro and Motion 5 creative titles.
The Twitter account in question has since been removed due to a legal request, but not before people were able to download and circulate the images. The alleged screenshots were forwarded to our source before they got yanked.
The screenshots show off several different shots of Final Cut Pro X, offering a fairly close look at the software, as well as a first look at Motion 5, which will apparently have a new “rigging” feature (according to the alleged shots). Also according to the banned twitter user, Apple will allegedly reveal a new version of Color as well, which is another traditional part of Apple’s Final Cut Studio.
Both Final Cut X and Motion 5 are expected to be 64-bit programs, and are expected to be very significant updates to the Apple creative programs. While no information is yet available regarding Motion 5, Apple did offer a first glimpse of Final Cut Studio X during the FCP User Group Supermeet at NAB in Las Vegas. Apple has revealed nothing since, but did promise that Final Cut Pro X would be “as revolutionary as the first version of FCP.”
At the event in April, Apple revealed that Final Cut Studio X would be available on the Mac App Store in June for $299, but made no mention of other Final Cut Studio applications. The current, third major revision of Final Cut Studio was released in July of 2009 with Final Cut Pro 7, Motion 4, Soundtrack Pro 3, Color 1.5, Compressor 3.5 and DVD Studio Pro 4.
