The Reputation Institute, a professional research organization, conducted a survey of 48,000 customers across 15 countries, and listed out those companies that the consumers’ determined to be most reputable. Apple was among the top 5.
Other companies on the top 5 include Google, Disney, BMW, and Lego. Another interesting find from the survey is that in the US, Kelloggs, above all other companies, managed to be considered the most reputable. Americans must really enjoy their Frosted Flakes.
Speaking on company excellence, Reputation Institute Executive Partner Nicolas Georges Trad was quoted as saying:
To build a strong reputation on a global level requires a broad platform that covers all seven dimensions of reputation, including Products & Services, Innovation, Workplace, Governance, Citizenship, Leadership, and Performance.
For large companies such as these, reputation isn’t just about ethics, or even bragging rights – it’s because it pays off – customers reward companies with strong reputations by being more likely to purchase products from them over someone else. It’s the loyal customer base that makes a difference.
Here’s a list of the top 10 most reputable brands (in order of repute), according to the survey’s findings: Google, Apple, The Walt Disney Company, BMW, LEGO, Sony, Daimler, Canon, Intel, Volkswagon.
Personally, I’m kind of shocked that Sony made the list, with their new reputation of having poor security, and being an easy target for hackers and information thieves…
