As you may know, Apple has a huge wad of reserve cash just waiting to be used, but I’m always impressed when it’s put into perspective. A recent report suggests that Apple has enough capital to purchase HTC, Nokia, RIM, LG, Motorola Mobility, and Sony Ericsson, all while paying cash.
The only remaining competitor would be Samsung, which has a worth of about $53 billion. Clearly Apple could not get away with making these purchases, due to antitrust regulations, but it’s a pretty impressive fact nonetheless. The above graph comes to use from analysis firm Asymco (as well as the report), who suggets the possibility of Apple buying the entire mobile phone industry, and paints a very interesting picture regarding Apple’s cash power…
Apple’s cash reserves are only growing. What could this mean for the future? Your thoughts? Sound off in the comments!
