Ever since GarageBand for iPad was unveiled, many have wondered just how it might work with GarageBand for Mac. Apple has now answered this question by issuing a Garageband update via Software Update allowing you to import projects created on the iPad.
The update weighs in at a mere 47MB, and is available immediately via Software Update, or via a standalone installer from Apple’s downloads site. If you don’t already have it, you can get GarageBand for the iPad here ($4.99, App Store).

This update improves overall stability and addresses a number of minor issues, including the following:
Support for opening projects imported from GarageBand for iPad. This update is recommended for all GarageBand ’11 users.
