FutureTap, a mobile app developer, has revealed that they have received their first crash report originating from an iOS 5 device, meaning that Apple seems to be currently field-testing their next-generation mobile operating system.
The application apparently crashed in iOS 5 due to the MKUserLocationBreadCrumb. Developer Will Strafach (Chronic) let 9to5Mac know that this API relates to the iOS maps and location functionality.
This could indicate that Apple has altered some map and location API’s in iOS , leading to issues with map-based applications designed for current versions of iOS. iOS 5 is expected to me mentioned, if not released, at WWDC in June, and may take one some new cloud-based features.
We’ll be there when it happens.
