Steve Jobs Re-Elected To Board Of Disney – Despite Opposition.

Steve Jobs was today re-elected to the board of Walt Disney Co. All 12 previous board members will be keeping their seats for the foreseeable future after collectively receiving 74% of the vote.

Jobs position on the board was opposed by the AFL-CIO labor union. The organization voted against Jobs but it wasn’t enough to remove Jobs from the board.

Concerns were raised about Jobs’ lack of attendance at previous board meetings and his recent health issues. These doubts rallied concerns about whether or not he would provide value to Disney.

Steve Jobs is a majority shareholder of Walt Disney Co. ever since their purchase of Pixar in a $7.4 billion all-stock deal in 2008.
