It’s the news nobody wants to hear. 9to5mac is saying that the release of the highly anticipated iPad 2 may be pushed as far back to June 2011. 9to5 cite a research note from Yuanta Securities Co that tells of “production bottlenecks” at Hon Hai Precision Industry Co (Foxconn) – one of Apple’s main electronic manufacturers.
The alleged bottleneck is a result of last minute design changes that Apple has requested before the Chinese new year – approximately 3 weeks ago.
Business Week is suggesting that this latest delay could see forecasted iPad 2 sales of 30.6 dwindle to 23 million as a result of this setback, with Android based tablets set to benefit.
