According to the ever-churning rumor mill, Apple may be preparing to shock the world by releasing the iPad 3 (complete with Retina display) at the September iPod event. The suggestion is made that it might perhaps be an “iPad Pro,” or introduce configurable options on the iPad devices.
I, for one, consider this all to be highly unlikely – it’s a move that would act as a slap in the fact to purchasers of the iPad 2 – not something that would be wise for Apple to do. And it doesn’t sound like an Apple-like move to me, either, being rather unprecedented considering Apple’s marketing history. But by all means, read the original piece over at Daring Fireball, and the commentary at Tech Crunch, as well as the discussion at TiPb, and make the judgment for yourself.
