Do you have $4,099 burning a hole in your back pocket ? If you do then I deplore you to avoid going to the Apple Store today to check out the top of the range Macbook Pro.
There is hundreds of better things to do with $4,099 than purchase an uberPimped out Macbook Pro. For one, you could give me the money.
The base model of the 17″ Macbook Pro comes in at $2,499. But a few modficiations to the hardware will see that price jump beyond $4,000 in no fewer than 4 upgrades!
- Making the jump from a 2.2GHz Quad-Core processor to a 2.3GHz Quad-Core adds $250.
- Doubling the RAM to 8GB from the standard 4GB will set you back a further $200. (that’s not bad actually, bit of value there).
- Going from the standard 750GB Hard Drive to a 512GB Solid State Drive will add a whoooooping $1,100 to your basket.
- The final upgrade, a jump to the Antiglare 17″ monitor will add a further $50 to the basket.
I would also recommend splashing out a further $349 for the Apple Care, just for piece of mind….. and probably a case…. a laptop case made out of gold would be a good idea.
Oh, and I would like to add that you will get free delivery if you purchase the above spec of Macbook Pro. That’s not unusual since most deliveries from Apple are free. However, we have it on good authority that Steve Jobs himself will deliver it to you, while riding a unicorn.
