You may not have known this, but Steve Jobs pitched the iPad on the UK series of Dragons’ Den. Jobs was seeking an investment from some of the UK’s most prominent entrepreneurs in order to get the iPad into production. How did the investment entrepreneurs react?
Yup, that’s right. No go. The Dragons declared the iPad a novelty, questioned its software capabilities, doubted they could work with Jobs, and Peter Jones even declared himself too big to work with Apple!
Was it a smart move not to invest? To be honest, with only 1,000,000 iPads sold during the Christmas period, I think the Dragons made a very wise choice.
What do you think?
