While this is probably to be filed under “Stuff we Already Know,” since Apple Pay is now available in two new countries, Australia and Canada, Apple has released a new video offering information on how to use the touchless payments system.
The video first goes through the steps it takes to make a payment at an NFC terminal, using your iPhone. The video mentions how no credit card or personal information is being shared with cashiers during he payment process.
The video also supplies a handy how-to for setting up a credit card for use with Apple Pay in the Wallet app. It then shows how to use the payments system with various Apple Pay-compatible apps. Conspicuously absent is a section on using the Apple Watch with the system. (However, there is a video available here that does show the steps for using the Watch to make touchless payments.)
Apple Pay is currently available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. The last two countries were added to the service last week, and currently are an American Express card-only service. Apple expects to add Spain, Singapore, and Hong Kong to the rolls in 2016, via the partnership with American Express.
