A new report from the not always reliable Digitimes says Apple will release a 4.7-inch iPhone 6s, a 5.5-inch iPhone 6s Plus, and a 4-inch iPhone 6c in the second half of 2015.
The report says its sources tell it that all three handsets will use LTPS display panels, with the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6c panels being supplied by Japan Display, Sharp, and LG Display. The iPhone 6S displays will come from Japan Display and LG.
The report indicates Apple will continue to ride the Gorilla Glass train, with no mention of sapphire glass displays. The two iPhone 6s handsets will be powered by a new A9 processor, while the 6C will come equipped with the same A8 processor found in this years iPhone 6 lineup.
Manufacturing of the iPhone 6S handsets is expected to be handled by Foxconn and Pegatron, while the iPhone 6c will be manufactured by Wistron.
Other rumors have indicated the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus models will include 2GB of RAM, and perhaps Force Touch technology, such as is found in the upcoming Apple Watch, and the new MacBook and 13-inch MacBook Pro laptops.
Apple is expected to announce new iPhone models in September. As always, watch your sodium intake when digesting rumors such as this… Time will tell.. etc.
