Leaked images, courtesy of Chinese parts supplier Future Supplier (via Nowhereelse.fr) show what could be the rear shell for the rumored “iPhone 6c.” The size of the rear shell indicates the device’s screen size would likely be 4-inches, as previously rumored.
MacRumors notes the casing is similar to the current iPhone 5c, with the exception of a pill-shaped LED cutout, and two rows of speaker grilles on the bottom. The LED design and speaker-grilles are also found on the iPhone 5s, indicating the iPhone 6c’s internals could be similar to that of the current 5s.
If Apple were to produce such a smartphone, it would most likely be positioned at the bottom end of Apple’s iPhone lineup, much like the iPhone 5c is currently offered as Apple’s “free” smartphone.
Rumors last week indicated Apple plans to offer three new iPhones in the fall, an iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and a 4-inch iPhone 6c.
As always, (say it with me), this is a rumor, and should be treated as such. We suggest taking this report with a grain of Lawry’s Seasoned Salt.
