Apple reported their earnings for fiscal Q1 2015 today, and they had a good quarter by almost any measure. Best ever, for any company ever.
Apple’s $18.04 billion in profit for the quarter gives it the record for highest quarterly earnings of all time. That’s for any company, anywhere, any time. They made around $8.3 million per hour, 24 hours per day. As Gary Busey would say, “WOW!”
Until today, Russian natural gas company Gazprom held the record at $16.2 billion in a quarter.

Another interesting bit of trivia: Of the current top 20 record earners, 15 of the companies are oil and gas producers, Apple takes the other 5 spots, spread out over various quarters.
