Apple has today released the iOS 8 update to an adoring public. The download is available to users of an iPhone 4S or later, iPad 2 or later, or fifth-generation iPod touch, or any iPad mini. The update is 1.1GB over the air.
The update can be accessed via iTunes, or via the Over the Air update method. (“Settings” -> “General” -> “Software Update”)
If the download isn’t showing up for you yet, keep trying, it may take awhile for the update to get to everyone, and the traffic hit on Apple’s servers will almost assuredly be overwhelming. (Just FYI, Our iPhone 5S is currently stuck at “Checking for Update.” Oh wait, there it goes!)
